Rexburg Weekend

It has taken me a full week to get around to writing this post, oops! Last Friday, Eric and I drove up to Rexburg, ID. to spend the weekend with friends and family. Friday when we got to Idaho Falls, Eric and I went to the mall, walked around a little, then dropped my ring off at Jensen's to get it all cleaned and dipped. YAY! It's like new again! Then Eric and I met up with our friends Tyler and Janae, their two kiddos, and our friend Tyrel for some yummy food at Red Robins. Eric and I have been on a little bit of a health trip lately so eating big juicy hamburgers after a week of salads was a little much and we both felt sick afterwards, but it was sooooo great in the moment! :) When dinner was over we finally headed in to Rexburg to our friends Angie and Jordan's NEW house. They just bought it a couple months ago and its in this cute little neighborhood out by the new high school in Rexburg. Such a great location. SO we were given the grand tour of their new home, chatted a bit, and then headed off to our third and final destination of the night where we were going to be staying for the weekend…Kyli and Dan's new apartment in Stonebrook. They also have done a great job of moving in and getting settled and I'm sure they love having a third bedroom now. The next morning Eric and I didn't really sleep in cause baby Rhett was sleeping in the room right next to ours….and well, we are childless for the moment so being waken by a baby is not a daily occurrence for us. Eric went golfing with Jordan and Tyler, and I stayed behind and got to play the "cool" aunt and feed Rhett.

Look at that Belly!!!!

I did go out and treat myself to Jamba, and yes paid the extra cents to get an energy shot to help keep me going the rest of the day. Eric's golf bag unfortunately decided to fall apart while he was golfing, which Eric insists is my fault because I'm the one who makes him leave it out on our porch. Sooo, happy Anniversary babe you get the new golf bag you bought yourself! hahahaha! The rest of saturday was spent going to porter park with Susan (she came in town), Dan, and Brookyln, eating at Gator Jacks with our friends Rachel, Jordan, and Angie, and shopping around, oh yeah and then we ate at a new frozen yogurt place there in town…really good.

Then that night Eric, Jordan, and I went to the grocery store picked up everything we would need for a bonfire, and then headed out to Beaver Dick Park where we roasted bratwurst and hotdogs, starbursts, and smores!!!

It was an awesome fire! Shout out to Jordan's dad who it all possible by proving the wood!

Then Rachel showed up later with a huge group of friends and our little gathering turned into a big one, and it was so much FUN!!!!! Definitely took us all back to the old days…yeah its cool we can say that now. It was such a great night and we rolled into bed around 1a.m. oops…curfew breakers!!! Not gonna lie, that was a common occurrence when Eric and I were dating!!! YIKES! hahaha! Anyways…Sunday was a beautiful day and we attended the baby blessing of our friends Tyler and Janae's little girl. Little Emily Reagan Webb was blessed and it was so special for us to be there, and for Eric to stand in the circle. Afterwards there was an awesome cookout at their place we were able to go to it before we had to head back home to Utah.

Once again it was so hard to leave, because visiting Rexburg is like visiting home for us. Eric and I just have so many wonderful memories there. The Ricks Building, where we first met, the MC and all the country Dancing Nights, DQing every Wed, Rexburg Temple, where we first told said we loved each other….2 months after we started dating..maybe…yeah it was quick. Porter park, the place where Eric and I finally decided that we wanted to marry each other and then went ring shopping….and the list could go on and on! I feel so blessed to have gone to school in such a wonderful town, and make such great life long friends, and to have found love! Its going to be sad when we move down south not being able to go and visit. :(

BIG NEWS

Yes this is very BIG NEWS!!!!!!! Eric and I will be moving to Daphne, Alabama in July for me to attend The University of South Alabama! I was accepted in to the school's Accelerated Nursing Program. What that basically means is that I will be completing a Bachelor's of Science in nursing in 1 yr…….it usually takes 3 yrs. Yikes!!!!!! It is gonna be 1 very hard and stressful year but it will be so worth it!!!!! I'm so excited to start this new chapter in our life! The first 3 courses I take are graduate level pathophysiology, health assessment, and pharmacology all in 5 weeks. So come July if I disappear off the face of the earth this is why. So excited!!! Wish me luck!

Eric and I will be moving into my mom's wonderful house while I'm going to school. She doesn't live there right now because she is staying Mobile taking care of my granddad, so moving home want be too stressful. At lest we know where we will be living….and it comes fully furnished haha! Now what to do with all our stuff while I'm in school? Eric is busy applying to all sorts of jobs there already, and between the internet and my family's connections we hope to line him up something really great before we move. Until then…see you later!

Mother's Day with Mom

I can't even remember the last time I was actually at home for mother's day, probably 6 years ago or more. Since I happened to be home for the whole week, and my flight didn't leave Bama until 5pm I was able to be at home with my mom for mother's day this year. It really meant a lot me and I'm sure it meant even more to her. After Church, My mom's "Friend" Ed took my mom, SIl Rebecca and myself…and little Thomas to the Riverview Hotel in downtown Mobile for brunch. It was a pretty fancy place let me tell you! I felt very spoiled. Valet parking and all, it was super nice! They give each of us ladies at the table flowers to take home.

The food was AMAZING!!!!!!!!

But my nephew Thomas was a little more interested in the desserts…can you blame him?

I even was spoiled for mother's day. Eric picked me up at the airport at 12:30 am and when I walked in the house this beautiful vase of flowers were waiting for me!!!

I wish this picture did justice of how beautiful these flowers are!! He is the sweetest man in the world and I can't wait to be the mother of his babies one day.

Even The Sun sets in Paradise

Catching up is what I need to do. I've been kinda lagging in posting new things lately. Mostly it's because life has just been really busy. So here goes nothing.

On May 3, 2012 at 7pm Central time, one of the greatest women I've ever had the privilege of knowing, my grandmother, Joanne Allen, Passed away at the age of 81 (almost 82). She was a beautiful lady who over the years survived so much. She grew up poor on a little farm  in the Dakotas' and had a twin sister. She met my grandfather on a blind date, and had 6 children. 4 boys and then 2 girls. My mom was the first girl. The whole family picked up and moved to the Panama Canal Zone where my grandfather was a tug boat captain, and my grandma was a secretary at the school. My grandmother loved to fish, popcorn was her favorite snack, and her dogs were her little babies. She loved putting bows in their hair and dressing them up. When she turned 50 she started having heart problems and ended up receiving a heart transplant 18 years ago, she named the heart El Vira. My grandma was a tough lady and her and my granddad were married 62 years.

I was able to fly to Alabama the following Sat. so I could attend the wake and funeral of this beautiful lady. It was great to be surrounded by family and friends. It was a beautiful service that did her justice.

I stayed in Bama for the entire week and flew back Sunday (yesterday). I was really glad I was able to be there and spend time with my family. I took lots of pictures and these are just a few from my trip there this last week.

I also got to go watch my old High School Softball team play in the Regional softball tournament, which my best friend Brittany is the assistant coach for.

A little reunion with a few of the old softball girls..Brittany, Marissa, and Tiffany

This is me at the end of the trip….Sunburned/tan, exhausted, and missing my husband.

A few of the other things I got to do while I was home is just spending lots of time with friends and family, shopping, eating out at a lot of my favorite places before having to go home, going to bootcamp with my mom at 5am (worth it), running in some of my favorite places, movies, and just enjoying good ole southern hospitality. Can't wait to go back!
